What was the first reality tv show?

Reality television is so popular now, that I can’t remember what was the first reality tv show.  It seems like nowadays, reality television is the only thing on sometimes, with all of the different types of shows.

I dont want to “cheat” and look it up, but the very first Reality Television show i know of is “Real World” on MTV. I know the series was often credited with starting the reality tv craze. There may have been one create earlier, Big Brother is a possible one, but Real World was the most popular in my lifetime.

I think it was a show from either one of the Scandinavian country or the Netherlands. Bunch of people isolated in a room, filmed 24/24 and trying to not get booted. Remakes started to pop around the world, the most famous being UK’s Big Brother. The concept stayed pretty much the same.

To tell the truth I am not 100% sure this is the first ever reality show, but it must be one of the first of a long list of them.

I hate these show by the way:)

Queer Eye was an American reality television series that premiered on the Bravo cable television network in July 2003. The program’s name was changed from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy after the third season to broaden the scope of its content.
