What is the difference between a latte and a cappuccino?

Lattes and cappuccinos are both made with espresso coffee, and steamed milk.  What is the difference?  Both drinks taste different as well.  The lattes have a smoother creamier taste, while cappuccinos have a stronger coffee taste.

Cappuccino is one shot of espresso to one of milk and the foam is often stiffer. Latte has three shots of milk to one espresso and usually less foam. So latte is milkier but has same caffeine kick.
